New Palm Beach Gardens Restaurants to Try This Summer

August 6, 2026

For years, the shortest sentence about dining in Palm Beach Gardens went something like this: PGA Boulevard for dinner, Downtown at the Gardens for a walk after. That sentence is quietly getting longer this summer. The additions are not on PGA. They sit west, along Northlake Boulevard and Donald Ross Road, and they are close enough to open that a resident's usual Tuesday errand loop is about to look different.

The center of gravity is moving west

The single largest change is happening at Avenir, the master-planned community at the northwest corner of Northlake Boulevard and Coconut Boulevard. Avenir's Town Center is under construction along Northlake Boulevard west of Florida's Turnpike, with an initial phase of roughly six buildings, the city approving up to 29 buildings at full buildout, and more than 200,000 square feet of retail and commercial space planned along with up to 1.8 million square feet of planned office. The point is not the acreage. The point is that a stretch of road that had almost nowhere to stop is about to have a grocery anchor, a pharmacy, and a cluster of restaurants inside the same summer.

The phasing matters if you actually live nearby. The Town Center is expected to begin opening in phases, starting with Publix on May 21, 2026, followed by additional retail and restaurant openings throughout the year. That means the grocery run shifts first, and the dinner options catch up over the following months. Confirmed and planned offerings include Publix, Publix Liquors, and Walgreens as anchors, along with dining options such as Seppe Pizza Bar, Field of Greens, Smoke and Maple Restaurant, and Taki Kappo Omakase. A few of those names deserve a second look for anyone who has been driving to Legacy Place or PGA for the same meal for a decade.

What opens, and roughly when

Place Where Timing
Publix at Avenir 12325 Northlake Blvd May 21, 2026
Field of Greens 5320 Donald Ross Rd and 12485 Northlake Blvd Opened March 13 and April 3, 2026
Phatboy Sushi Kitchen & Bar 11701 Lake Victoria Garden Ave #8102 Mid-to-late July opening
Taki Kappo Omakase Avenir Town Center Summer 2026
Seppe Pizza Bar Avenir Town Center Summer 2026
Smoke and Maple Avenir Town Center Summer 2026
Stanza Lounge 5320 Donald Ross Rd Unit 132 Now open

Two entries deserve context.

Taki Kappo Omakase is the one that changes the map. Omakase counters have been a downtown West Palm Beach or Worth Avenue proposition, and having a chef's-choice sushi option inside a Palm Beach Gardens shopping center rather than a thirty-minute drive south is a genuine shift in what is available on a weeknight.

Phatboy Sushi Kitchen & Bar at Lake Victoria Garden Avenue is the seventh location for the brand. The Palm Beach Gardens location will seat about 80 guests inside, including the bar, with about 40 seats outside on a patio. The restaurant will offer Martini Mondays with half-off lychee martinis all day, along with all-day happy hour on Tuesdays with food and drinks from a designated happy hour menu. That two-day cadence is a useful thing to know before you drive over on a Saturday expecting the same pricing.

Alton is quietly becoming the after-dinner stop

If Avenir is the summer story, Alton Town Center is the story that has already happened and has not been fully absorbed. The center's dining lineup at 5320 Donald Ross Road has been building steadily, and one of the more interesting additions is not a restaurant at all in the usual sense. Stanza opened as an intimate speakeasy tucked inside Lynora's in Palm Beach Gardens, with refined cocktails, layered sound, and quiet intrigue. It sits under the same roof as the Italian restaurant, which is the point: dinner at Lynora's and a cocktail next door is now the same address rather than two separate errands.

A few practical details residents should know before showing up. Entry is not permitted for guests under the age of 25, and the dress code is upscale casual chic. Collared shirts are encouraged, hats are not permitted, and athletic apparel, shorts, swimwear, flip-flops, and athletic slides are not allowed. That is a stricter standard than most of the surrounding Alton tenants, so it is worth mentioning to anyone you are bringing along.

Field of Greens sits at the same 5320 Donald Ross Road address, which turns one plaza into a full-day rotation: salads and cold-pressed juices at lunch, Lynora's for dinner, Stanza after. That kind of density is what Alton has been aiming for since it opened, and this is the summer it clicks into place.

The city calendar is doing quieter work

Not everything worth attending this summer costs money or requires a reservation. Palm Beach Gardens is running an America 250 series through the season, and it lands squarely in the parts of town residents already move through.

  • The Gardens GreenMarket at 10500 North Military Trail is running its America 250 slate on Saturday mornings, including a Father's Day edition with a car show and a "My Dad Rocks" paint-your-own-rock craft on June 21.
  • Palm Beach Gardens Fire Rescue is hosting fire station tours each Saturday from June 6 through July 4, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., available at Stations 61, 64, and 66.
  • Splash Into Storytime returns to the PBG Aquatic Complex at 4420 Burns Road on Tuesdays from June 2 through August 4, from 9 to 10:55 a.m., with a water safety story followed by open play.

These are not headline events. They are the small municipal things that make a Saturday morning feel local rather than generic, and they cluster at Military Trail and Burns Road while everyone else's attention is on the new restaurant openings farther north and west.

One thing to watch on the west side

If you drive Northlake often, expect the road to behave differently starting mid-May. A grocery anchor pulling from a community with roughly 4,000 planned homes is going to concentrate turning movements at Coconut Boulevard in a way that stretch of Northlake has not seen. The Avenir side of the road is also picking up more than retail. The Palm Beach Gardens City Council recently approved an $18 million Freestanding Emergency Room at Coconut Boulevard and Northlake Boulevard, with construction beginning Summer 2026, providing a 12-bay, 24/7 facility. That is a piece of infrastructure worth knowing about the next time someone in your household asks where the nearest ER is on a Sunday night.

The design intent at Avenir also explains why summer might feel like an inflection point rather than another opening. As a golf cart-friendly community, residents will be able to easily access the Town Center directly via golf cart, enhancing the neighborhood's walkable and accessible lifestyle. That is a genuinely uncommon layout for northern Palm Beach County, where most retail was built for cars and cars alone.

The short version

The takeaway for anyone who has been eating and shopping in Palm Beach Gardens on the same rotation for a while: your options on the west side of town are going to look meaningfully different by Labor Day than they did in April. Alton has already filled in. Avenir is filling in now. The stretch between them, Donald Ross to Northlake, is where the summer's attention is worth spending. Downtown at the Gardens and PGA Boulevard have not gone anywhere, but for the first time in a long time, they are not the only answer.

If your household is thinking about how the west-side shift changes the shape of daily life here, or how it might affect what a home in different pockets of Palm Beach Gardens is actually worth this year, John Reynolds & Randi Binder are happy to talk it through and, if it is useful, prepare a private valuation on your property.
